On the 7th of December, The UON School of Environmental and Life Sciences (Geography and Environmental Studies) hosted the annual Postgraduate Day Workshop for 2017. Many colleagues and postgraduate students from Macquarie University visited to join in on the day’s activities.
Dr Felix Ringel, Research Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at Durham University in England was our guest speaker for the event. His research focusses on temporality, post-industrial society and sustainability.
The theme of the event was ‘Sustainability and Temporality’ which worked to encourage all participants to think about the relevance of their research in addressing the many issues that life in the Anthropocene presents us with.
Dr Meg Sherval, Senior Lecturer and Research Higher Degree Convenor noted that the day was “a great opportunity to network with like-minded peers and to share what we love about Geography, and its continued value in our world today.”
